Tulipa Foxtrot is an early flowering double in old rose pink which deepens in colour as the flowers age. Tidy and neat and much earlier than the similar (but taller) Angelique.
This plant/cultivar has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit because it has proved to be reliable in appropriate conditions and a good performing plant.
Avoid really windy sites with Tulip Foxtrot and other heavy headed tulips. Plant the bulbs 5" (12cm) deep and 5" (12cm) apart in reasonably good soil in a position that will have plenty of sun at flowering time. Don't be in a rush to get the tulips in the ground as they will benefit from planting in late October or early November, by which time the first frosts will have reduced the level of disease in the soil.
