Tulipa whittallii

Named after Edward Whittall, a plant collector extraordinaire who collected many such treasures of around Izmir in Turkey where there is still a famous garden named after him. These are a gorgeous bronzy orange with a dark centre and would love sunny conditions in a raised bed or rockery.

RHS Award of Garden Merit.

This plant/cultivar has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit because it has proved to be reliable in appropriate conditions and a good performing plant. 

Planting Instructions

Best in a raised bed or rockery. Plant in well drained soil in sun or part shade 3-4" (8-10cm) deep and 3" (8cm) apart.
