Small South African bulbs which, when grown well, really do flower their socks off for very little effort. They do not like it wet in winter when dormant, so they either need very well drained conditions (we know a garden near Glasgow where they grow undisturbed outdoors because of the exceptionally free draining situation) or potted in a mesh pot in which they can be plunged in the garden all summer, and lifted (in their pot) for a dry winters rest.
