Commonly known as vervain, this verbena is a step on from the normal bonariensis types, and offers a naturalised look to cottage garden and gravel gardens. A drought tolerant plant once established, it also accepts growing in poorer soil types. Small but plentiful lavender pink flowers appear throughout the summer, and are held above a loose, sprawling green foliage that holds a hint of purple in the sunlight. Supplied in a 2ltr pot in mid May
Verbena Bampton is best grown in the border. Dig a hole approximately twice the size of the rootball. Knock the plant out of the pot, and place into the centre of the hole, and backfill, ensuring the returned soil is lightly pressed into place. Also ensure the crown of the plant is above the soil surface.
Fully grown this Verbena will be 90cm tall and 60cm wide, so please bear this in mind when finalising the position of this plant in your garden
