Larger flowered and taller than the ‘common’ white Lily of the Valley but equally scented. For sun or shade but in the former they need a more moisture retentive soil. Good, strong, fresh-dug rhizomes (stringy roots) to plant horizontally about 2” deep (5 cm) and twice that apart.

Planting Instructions

Convallaria majalis Fortins Giant rhizomes should be kept moist before planting them 2" (5cm) deep horizontally and 4" (10cm) apart in a leafy fertile humus rich soil in full sun or part shade. Top dress with leaf mould in autumn. These are good strong fresh dug rhizomes but they will need a little time to settle in and patience will be rewarded.
