Wishing to experiment with offering some different forms of Crocus I find both Rod Leeds in "Early Bulbs" and Brian Matthew in "Smaller Bulbs" write that they are 'easy'! They hail from N.W Italy in light woodland and are a pale lilac- blue with a yellower throat.

Planting Instructions

Crocus etruscus Rosalind bulbs should be planted 3-4" (8-10cm) deep in gritty, well drained soil and full spring sun. It looks best in small tight groups of 2 or 3 bulbs only 1.5" (3cm) apart repeated at larger intervals. Do beware of mice and squirrel attacks which can be overcome with the use of buried mesh baskets.
