Gladiolus Atom has dusty orange red flowers, each petal margin enriched by white piping, which highlights their individual shape. This is particularly effective where the petals overlap one another. Best in well drained soils and in the sun.
Gladiolus Atom corms should be planted 5" (12cm) deep and 4" (10cm) apart on a cushion of coarse grit so that they are well drained. These handsome plants need no staking or lifting in the winter in warm and sheltered areas where they make good garden plants and cut flowers. They grow away early in the spring so the foliage may be susceptible to late frosts which can be alleviated by mulching. If yours is a cold garden, the winter dormant hybrid forms are also sold in the spring so buy them then instead,
