Raised by Alan McMurtrie in Canada this hybrid is evidently the result of crossing Iris reticulata Pauline x Iris reticulata bakeriana . It appears and grows much like the others but is slightly smaller though the white throat markings are distinct and outstanding surrounded as they are by the rich purples. They are Middle Eastern in origin and do best in well drained conditions with a dry warm summer rest.
Iris reticulata Spot On bulbs should be planted 5" (12cm) deep and 2-4" (5-10cm) apart in well-drained, rich gritty soil in full sun and probably best in a raised bed or 15 bulbs will nicely fill a 9" (20cm) pot. Top dress the soil with grit so the flowers are not splashed with dirt in the rain. They do best with a dry warm summer rest.
Flowers February/March
Height 6" (15cm)
