Evidently (according to Wikipedia) these are found over much on North America, from Texas to New Brunswick, and were used by the native Americans for culinary purposes. The bees certainly love the pale teal to lilac coloured flowers. A very tolerant Allium that seems to cope with both very dry soils right through to our heavy clays. Fine leaved with pinkish white flowers, quite often sporting bulbils in the flowering head. Supplied as small clumps.
Plant 3" (8cm) deep in well drained soil in open ground, only 2" (5cm) apart.
