(Anemone)
This name resonates with me given the ground breaking guitar work of Hendrix, and this dahlia is similarly unique! The colour scheme is unusual, with contrasting rich burgundy and pink tones, with elements of magenta thrown in, all offset against very dark foliage – there is nothing else like this one!
Tender. Store tubers dry until late March, then pot up and grow with warmth to plant out in late May. If intending planting directly into the garden wait till mid May, storing these tubers in dry, frost free conditions till then. They need planting in a sunny situation with good compost below them, 12-15"(30-40cm) apart with regular dead heading in the late summer to encourage repeat flowering. Growing them initially as potted plants early in the season will give you a head start. In the winter they may need to be lifted and kept frost free, depending on the conditions. These single flowered forms tend to have smaller, more compact tubers.
Flowering throughout the Summer
