About the reddest flower I know, and a colour that digital cameras seem not to be able to handle well. (Formally called Schizostylus)
This plant/cultivar has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit because it has proved to be reliable in appropriate conditions and a good performing plant.
These are easy plants for a sunny position which isn't waterlogged in the winter although a damper summer suits them better than a dry one, Benefits from lots of humus worked into the soil. Grassy leaved and appreciative of being split up every 3 or 4 years. Plant 2"(6cm) apart.
Flowering September / October
