A very robust and large leaved variety, with them consistently measuring up to 15” long and 12” across. The thick leaves give extra slug resistance! Foliage has a slightly corrugated look to it, and is a mix of green and powdery blue. White, fading to cream flowers appear in the summer months . Supplied as bare root division
Hosta’s are shade loving plants that are great for brightening up the dull corners of the garden. So these must be planted out of direct afternoon sunlight. These are tough plants, but they prefer heavy soils, and are happy to sit in moist conditions, so they must never be allowed to dry out, especially if growing in containers
Prior to planting, it is best to soak the division for 3-4 hours
Plenty of space should be given to the bare root when planting to allow space for the plant to thrive - I would suggest around 18-24” (45-60cm) from any other plant in the border. Dig a generous sized hole, with the crown a few inches below the soil surface, then backfill. Water in well, and ensure the plant has plenty of water in its first season to allow it to establish
